Lancaster- Patricia Ann Divelbliss, 86, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, September 13, 2023.
Born in Huntington, West Virginia in 1937, Patricia was a strong, independent woman who valued family above all else. At the age of 18, with an adventurous spirit, she moved to Lancaster. She soon married James Divelbliss, and the next year, they welcomed the first of their five children. She raised her children to be loving and strong-willed. She encouraged each child’s path with enthusiasm and unwavering support. She always made sure everyone was welcome in her home, and made everyone feel that they were part of her family.
Patricia began a new chapter as a single mother in her 50s, thriving on her love for family, friends and hard work. She took great pleasure in a variety of jobs including Canteen Vending, RGIS Inventory and as a dog groomer and obedience trainer. She was an avid dancer, animal lover and an enthusiast of playing cards and Yahtzee. She enjoyed spending every morning with coffee, reading the newspaper.. You didn’t dare disturb her during her precious paper time. She ended every conversation with family by reminding them that she loved them.
She is survived by her children, Keith, Kay (Brian), Brett, Mark and Brenda (Patrick), six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and one great, great grandchild; beloved boyfriend Wayne Babbs, and cat companion Ozzie. Preceded in death by her parents Walter and Virginia Lane; brother Sheridan “Skip” and wife Louise Lane, and daughter-in-law Brenda (Keith).
