Norma Jean DeLong, age 85, passed away at her residence on March 17th, 2021. Norma was born to the late Carl and Ruth (Azbell) Amspaugh on June 22nd, 1935 in Carroll Ohio. She was a devout member of the Bloom Presbyterian Church in Lithopolis. She worked at Value City Jewelry and worked for many years as the head cook for Lancaster City Schools before retiring. She was a member of the Olivedale Senior Center. She loved reading and particularly enjoyed reading romance novels. She also loved to quilt in her spare time. Norma will be dearly missed by her many friends and family.
Norma is survived by her sons, Warren DeLong, David (Pam) DeLong, Bruce (Patricia) DeLong, Brian (Karen) DeLong; grandchildren, Mindee (Charlie) Thomas, Tracy Ward, Christopher (Dara) DeLong, Tiffany (Tom) Nash, Beth DeLong, Ryan Ayers, Kyle (LaTasha) DeLong, Brandon (Robin) DeLong; 12 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Norma is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Erle DeLong; siblings, Richard, Goldie, Mary and Marcella; grandson, Clarke Edward DeLong; great grandson, Easton Michael DeLong; special friend, Robert Lamb.
Visitation hours will take place from 1-4 PM on Sunday, March 21st at the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home, 405 N Columbus St. Lancaster Ohio 43130. A service will take place on Monday, March 22nd at 10:30 AM also at the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home.
