Norma Jean Bishop 80 of Lancaster, Ohio went home to be with her Lord on Friday, June 15, 2012 at her residence.
Norma Jean Gatts and Earl Bishop were married on June 19, 1953, she was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Minister’s Wives Choir, supported her husband at different churches he ministered, enjoyed watching her grandchildren’s sporting activities and extracurricular activities.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Rev. Earl Bishop; sons, John (Lois) Bishop of Upper Arlington, Ohio and Jim (Lesa) Bishop of Lancaster, Ohio; daughter, Barbara Bishop of Columbus, Ohio; grandchildren, Brian and Sarah Bishop; sister, Elizabeth of Blanchester, Ohio; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth Gatts and John Gatts , step-mother, Nina Gatts and sister, Mary Fischer.
Friends may visit Tuesday, June 19, 2012 from 4-7 p.m. at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCASTER, OHIO 43130. Caring Cremation to follow.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Robert McDowell officiating. There will be a gathering of family and friends 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Burial will be held at a later date.
