Nolene K. Kelley, 85, of Lancaster, passed away at her home on Saturday, June 23, 2018. She was born on October 13, 1932, in Rockbridge, Ohio.
Nolene was a 1954 graduate of Ohio University and she retired from Fairfield Medical Center. She was a member of Rockbridge United Methodist Church and attended Emanuel Lutheran Church. Nolene was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, a 4-H leader, and enjoyed volunteering at Medill Elementary and Fairfield Medical Center. She loved sewing and making costumes, knitting, and baking.
Nolene is survived by her husband of 54 years, John “Jack” M. Kelley; daughter, Megan E. Kelley; grandchildren, Emily (Nicholas) Bailey and Derrick McCormick; great granddaughters, Sophia and Adalyn Bailey; sister Virginia Koch; brother, Dale Koch; nieces and nephews, John Miller, Holly Miller-Downour, Barbara Bindrim, Michael Koch, and David Koch; and special family friend, Alice Penrose.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Oleta and W.P. “Nick” Koch; sister, Jennie Lee Miller; sisters-in-law, Elaine Koch and Trudy Koch; and brother-in-law, Harold “Muzzy” Miller.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 231 E. Mulberry St, Lancaster, Ohio 43130, with Reverend Mark Raddatz officiating. Family and friends may visit at the church one hour prior to the service. Caring Cremation through the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home, Lancaster and burial will take place at a later date in Forest Rose Cemetery.
