Nils (Couch King) Gustavson 75 of Lancaster, Ohio passed away, Thursday, May 9, 2013 at Fairfield Medical Center.
He was born on February 18, 1938 in Sweden to the late Nils Oskar and Aina Lundquist Gustavson.
Nils was president of Colonial Heights Furniture Co., past president of Ohio Home Furnishings Association, member of the Executive Committee National Home Furnishings Association, past president of the Lancaster Festival Board and past president of the Lancaster Country Club. He was a member of the Lancaster Rotary, Symposiarchs, Lancaster Chamber of Commerce Board, Lancaster Bingo Co. Board, Shaner-Nusbaum Board and the United Way Board.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Kay Vance Gustavson; daughter, Amie (Barry) Cohen of Lancaster, Ohio; son, David Gustavson of Lancaster, Ohio; grandchildren, Trevor, MacKenzie, Abbie and Parker Cohen; sister, Vivian (Doug) Coupe of Bluffton, South Carolina; nieces and nephews, Susan, Julie, Jennifer, Jon, Andy and Molly; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Nancy and Al Alesiunas and Kay Vance; loved puppy, Kali.
He was preceded death by his parents, nephew, Guy Mast, brother-in-law, David Vance, mother-in-law, Virginia Vance and his father-in-law, L. S. Vance.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Life Church, 5550 Lancaster-Newark Rd. (Rt.37), Pleasantville, Ohio 43148 with Pastor Ron Grubb officiating. Caring Cremation® has taken place by the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 405 N. COLUM BUS ST., LANCATSER, OHIO 43130. There will a time of gathering of family and friends from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
