Nilda Medina

Nilda (Carmenate) Medina, 85, left this earth on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at Primrose Retirement Community in Lancaster, Ohio. She was born on December 9, 1936 in Mariel Cuba to Hose Carmenate and Rose (Perez) Carmenate. She received her education as a teacher in Cuba. Nilda met the love of her life, Marcos Medina when she was 14 years old and they married December 25, 1960 in the Catholic Church in Cuba.

They resided in Cuba for the first portion of their lives, then lived in Spain and were welcomed into the United States in 1967.

Nilda worked as an interior designer for Ferris Interior and was also a professional Seamstress throughout her working career. The couple resided in Tampa Florida and retired in Miami Florida. In their later years they moved to Lancaster Ohio to be near their only son.

Leaving to mourn her passing is her husband Marcos (Sergio) Medina, of Lancaster Ohio, One son Sergio (Stacy) Medina, Of Lancaster Ohio, 3 grandchildren, Michael Medina of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Logan (Jane) Zimmerer of Cincinnati Ohio, and Grant Zimmerer of Lancaster Ohio. Two great grandchildren Hazel Zimmerer and Adalyn Zimmerer of Cincinnati Ohio. One brother Raul (Fabiola) Carmenate of Miami Florida and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and numerous brothers and sisters.

Nilda’s wishes were to be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
