Nicholas G. Carter 85 of Lancaster, Ohio passed away Sunday, February 4, 2018 at Fairfield Medical Center. He was born on October 25, 1932 in Lancaster, Ohio to the late Irvin and Ethel (Thornton) Carter.
He was owner and operator of Carter Tree Service with 48 years of service. Nicholas was a member of the 40&8, Loyal Order of Moose #955, VFW Post 1380, VFW Post 1516, AMVETS, F.O.E. Aries #2120 and liked to walk through the woods and get the cob webs out of his head.
Nicholas is survived by his children, Nick Carter of Lancaster, Ohio, Valerie Carter of Columbus, Ohio, Vicky Carter of Lancaster, Ohio, Judy Carter Wildermuth of Carroll, Ohio, Greg Carter of Columbus, Ohio and Cindy Carter Anderson and James Anderson of Lancaster, Ohio; nine grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; sisters, Betty Kitsmiller of Lancaster, Ohio and Evon Corder of Sugar Grove, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Denise Bushee, son, Jeffrey Carter, grandson, Jeffery Anderson, parents, sister, Mary Ann Siefert and brothers, Francis Carter and Kenneth Carter.
A graveside service will be held Friday, February 9, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. the Lithopolis Cemetery Mausoleum, with the Lancaster Veterans Burial Detail conducting military rites at the cemetery.
