Nellie Reese

Nellie Maxine Reese, age 86, passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at Sterling House in Newark, Ohio. Maxine was a graduate of Liberty Union High School and a lifetime resident of the Baltimore/Lancaster area.
Maxine was preceded in death by her sons, Steven and Jerry, her sisters, Dot Henderly, Grace Reid and brothers Harold and Don Raver. She is survived by daughter, Brenda Reese of Pataskala; son, David Reese of New Albany; and brothers, Michael, Marvin and Tim Raver. Maxine was the proud Grandma to 6, Great grandmother to 5, with the sixth on the way, and had several nieces and nephews. Over the past few years Maxine has received loving care and support from the staff of Sterling House of Newark, joined by the staff of Heartland Hospice. The caring of her lifelong friends Marie Landis of Baltimore and The Manual Family of Pickerington will always be remembered and appreciated. Those who knew Max knew of her love of babies and baby dolls. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you bring a new doll baby to Johnson-Smith Funeral Home. The dolls will be donated to children in need as Maxine believed every child needed a doll to love. Visitation will be held Friday, April 26, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Johnson-Smith Funeral Home in Baltimore with the service at 7. A private burial will take place at a later time.
