NEAL E. MILLER age 88 of Bremen had a peaceful passing with his family by his side on Wednesday October 17, 2012 at the Fairfield Medical Center.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, receiving his Purple Heart from the Battle of the Bulge Campaign. He retired from Diamond Power in 1987 after 30 years. Neal and the love of his life Joan recently celebrated their 65 wedding anniversary on September 7th. He was a lifetime member of the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church in Lancaster; a lifetime member of the Oscar McVeigh American Legion of Bremen; and a member of the Rushcreek Grange for 60 years.
He is survived by his wife, B. Joan (Briggs) Miller; son, Phil (Suzi) Miller; grandchildren, Kimberly (Warren) Bitler, Phillip II, Melisa (Chad) Collingsworth all of Bremen; great grandchildren, Ilysa Miller of Lancaster, Zach and Ashley Miller of Bremen, and Corey and Monica Mosley of Pensacola, FL.; sisters, Anna Forquer and Miriam Kilbarger; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Homer and Grace Miller; brother and sister-in-law Harold and Jenni Miller and brothers-in-law, Donald Kilbarger and Joe Forquer.
Funeral service will be held Saturday at 10:30 am at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL LANCASTER with Pastor Todd Noland officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Garden where the Lancaster, Ohio Veterans Burial Detail will conduct military graveside services. Friends may call Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
