Naomi I. Morehart (née Witherspoon), aged 88, passed away on July 3, 2024, at The Pickering House in Lancaster, Ohio after a brief illness. 

 Born on August 27, 1935, in Baltimore, Ohio to Anna L. (Stoughton) Witherspoon and Ellsworth J. Witherspoon. Naomi graduated from Liberty Union High School in 1953 and was the salutatorian of her class. After a long career in customer service, she retired from the JC Penney Telemarketing Center in 1995.

 A member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Naomi found solace through her faith. Music also played an important role in her life. A member of her high school marching band and a talented pianist, she also had a deep appreciation for bluegrass and country music and enjoyed attending concerts at local events.

 Naomi is survived by her daughters, Rhonda Doyle (Phillip) of Reynoldsburg, OH, and Carol Morehart of Blacklick, OH; granddaughters, Allison Hickman (Josh) of Lockbourne, OH, and Kristin Caruso (Eric) of Canfield, OH; great-grandchildren, Declan & Kellan Hickman and Emma, Eliana & Mason Caruso; and her brother, Larry Witherspoon (Sharon) of Baltimore, OH. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. Naomi was preceded in death by her parents, Anna and Ellsworth Witherspoon; brothers, Paul and Gary Witherspoon; and special companion, Lawrence (Buddy) Bobo.

 A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at 11 AM in the JOHNSON-SMITH FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 207 S Main St., Baltimore, OH 43105. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. No calling hours will be held.
