Naomi Ruth Metty 89 of Lancaster, Ohio former resident of Baltimore, Ohio died Sunday, September 4, 2011 at the Pickering House. She was born in Basil, Ohio on July 25, 1922 to the late Sherman and Blanche Oberlander.
Ruth loved to sew and was retired from Fashion Cleaners with 20 years of service. She also loved gardening, reading and cooking.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon K. Wilkin of Lancaster, Ohio; son, David K. Metty of Cincinnati, Ohio; 5 grandchildren, Penny, Cheryl, Michael, Steven, and Emma; 7 great grandchildren; sister, Thelma Helsel of Columbus, Ohio; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter, Holly Altman, sister, Marvene Hochradel, and former husband, Fred Metty.
Caring Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be Saturday, September 17, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. in the JOHNSON-SMITH FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL AND CREMATORY, 207 S. MAIN ST., BALTIMORE, OHIO 43105 with Pastor William Lavely officiating. Friends may visit 1 hour prior to the service a the funeral on Saturday.
