Nancy L. (Young) Roscoe

Nancy Lois (Young) Roscoe, 69, of Lancaster, Ohio, passed away on July 12, 2022.

Nancy was born at St. Ann’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio on July 11, 1953, to Wesley Clay Young and Sally Lou (Bralley) Young.  She attended Lancaster High School and went on to operate a boarding house for homeless Veterans for many years. She ended her career by serving her country for two terms as an AmeriCorps VISTA member and working for several years in management for a statewide nonprofit organization.

Nancy was a devoted mother and Nana who loved making holidays and birthdays truly special occasions. She was a kind compassionate person who cared more for the needs of others than her own.

Nancy is preceded in death by her parents; brother, David Young; daughter Sally (Speakman) Jackson, granddaughters Star Roark, and Tammie Speakman.

Nancy is survived by her son Dustin (Jason Elchert) Speakman; daughters JoAnn Crist, Caroline (Jonathon Uribe) Roscoe, and Ashley (Adam) Roark; grandchildren Joshua, Tiffany, and Gabriel Speakman, Victoria Griffith, Olivia Muck, Elyza Karshner, Lucy Perkins, Eliot, Oliver, and Oscar Speakman-Elchert; and great-grandchildren Caroline Jackson, Brandon Jackson, and Emelia Speakman; and her beloved three-legged cat Leo.

In keeping with Nancy’s wishes, there will be a private memorial service for the family. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a local hunger-relief organization.
