Nancy Ann Brackbill, 89, of Lancaster, Ohio passed away, peacefully in her sleep, on Saturday, June 24th, 2017 at Primrose Retirement Community.
She was born August, 21, 1927 to John and Carrie Nembach on Long Island, New York. In 1949, Nancy married Fred Brackbill, who she had met at Mensch Mill church camp in Pennsylvania. Fred’s career in the U.S.A.F. took the Brackbill family many places, including Alaska and Japan. They settled in Pickerington, Ohio, where they lived for 43 years. They were both active in the community.
Nancy had been a housewife, bus driver, high school art teacher, antique dealer, water-color artist, and operator of the small business, The Decorated Chair.
She is predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Fred K. Brackbill and by her daughter-in-law, Amy (Uber) Brackbill.
She is survived by her 4 sons, Sam (Diane), Jack (Joyce), Jim, and David; her sister, Susan Landis; sister-in-law, Nancy Minnich; 6 grandchildren, Alex, Coby, Noah, Joshua, Mazie, and Sally; and several nieces and nephews.
Nancy enjoyed flowers, gardening, reading, and was content sitting in a field painting. It gave her peace which is reflected in the many pictures of landscapes and flowers that she painted.
