Muriel Underwood

Muriel “Murt" Norris Underwood 92 of Lancaster, Ohio passed away on Sunday, December 16, 2024 at the Pickering House. She was born on June 25, 1932 in Lancaster to the late William and Mary Norris. 

She was retired from Essex Wire with 30 years of service and was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. She enjoyed western square dancing and making infant quilts. 

Murt is survived by her loving husband of 74 years, Robert L. Underwood; daughter, Linda Lou Benadum of Lancaster; grandchildren, Matthew Hall and Christopher (Paige) Hall and great grandchild, Izabella Benadum.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Diane Lynn Hall, grandson, Michael lane Benadum, brother, Elmer Norris and sister, Mary Lou Norris.

Funeral service will be held Friday, December 20, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. in the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home, Lancaster, Ohio with Rev. Dr. John C. Davidson officiating. Friends may visit 1 hour prior the service on Friday. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Lancaster, Ohio.
