Michael Edlar "Mike" Chappell, age 67 of Lancaster, Ohio, passed away at home unexpectantly on March 8, 2024.
Born May 2, 1956 in Lancaster, Ohio, he was the son Robert Edlar and Christine Kelley Chappell of Lancaster and the grandson of Dr. A. M. and Esther Ochs Kelley of Lancaster and William Edlar and Hazel Jaunita Chappell of Columbus.

Mike graduated from Lancaster High School in 1974. He opened his business, The Bike Shop, a few years after graduation and operated the business for over 40 years until his death. Mike enjoyed an active lifestyle and rode his bike , learned to scuba dive and most recently spent time spent parachuting.
Mike is survived by his sister Jane (Dave) Wickert of Redmond, Washington and a brother David K. Chappell of Columbus. He is also survived by a niece, Jeannie Wickert of Vestal, New York and an aunt and uncle Dr. Donald and Ann Kelley of Michigan as well as many cousins.

Besides his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his grandparents, and numerous aunts and uncles.

Caring Cremation has taken place through the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home. Interment will take place at a a later date. Donations may be made in Mike's name to a charity of your choice.
