Michael R. Lutz, 62, of Lancaster, Ohio passed from this world on Wednesday, January 21, 2014 at 4:15 PM, surrounded by his loving family, following a brief battle with lung cancer.
Born to the late Harold and Betty (Brown) Lutz on March 18, 1951, Mike was a friendly, family-oriented person, with a great sense of humor, whose family meant the world to him. He graduated from Amanda-Clearcreek High School in 1969. He retired from Porter Drywall with 32 years of service.
Mike leaves behind his daughter and caregiver, Shawna (Kurt) Saunders, and his son, Noah (Amber) Lutz, all of Lancaster; cherished grandchildren, Tasha Steele, of Port Charlotte FL, who was also his caregiver in his final days; Adrienne Steele, Anthony Steele, and Gabrielle Saunders, all of Lancaster; brother, Steve (Dorothy) Lutz, of Alabama; sister, Barbara (John) Collison, of Lancaster; nieces, Tania (David) Peck, of Lancaster, Kendra Lavey, of Lancaster, and Autumn (Kevin) Mullins of Punta Gorda, FL; cousins, and other relatives left behind to mourn his absence.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his granddaughter, Olivia Steele, and niece, Misty Coakley.
Caring Cremation® was handled by the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCASTER, OH 43130. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aries 2120 in Lancaster, Saturday, February 1, 2014 beginning at 6 PM.
