Michael L. (Mike) Fisher
Michael was called home on Wednesday, Jan 18, 2017. He had been fighting COPD for many years.
Mike was a life long resident of Fairfield county. He attended Bloom-Carroll High School before joining the Navy, where he served as an engine-man on a submarine, the USS Blueback.
Following discharge from the Navy, Mike maintained large diesel trucks and later became certified as a professional small engine mechanic. He partnered with friends to build high performance truck engines and powerful dune-buggies. Mike was a mechanical wizard and there wasn't anything that he wouldn't try. Mike also worked in the construction field, building homes, working with concrete, and excavating.
Mike is survived by one brother and his wife; Alan & Nancy Fisher, two sisters; Beckie Fisher and Debbie Fisher, all of Lancaster. He had two nieces; Lori (Ken) Edmonds and Lindsey Fisher. He was preceded in death by parents; Ralph & Leolia Fisher, grandparents; Homer & Twila Roush, grandmother; Alice Fisher, and brother; Bobby Fisher.
Mike's family would like to plead with everyone to NOT SMOKE and if you currently smoke, PLEASE QUIT.
A memorial service will be held at 7:00 pm Monday, January 30th, at the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home, Lancaster. Friends may visit one hour prior to the service on Monday. Caring Cremation has taken place. Burial will be in Forest Rose Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Michael to Hospice of Central Ohio, 2269 Cherry Valley Rd SE, Newark, Ohio 43055.
