Melvin Trimmer

Melvin Trimmer-age 89, passed away on Saturday, October 15, 2016, at Pickering House in Lancaster, Ohio. He was born March 22, 1927 in Baltimore, Ohio, to Earl & Ethel Trimmer.

He was a local farmer whose daily job and joy, was to work and care for God’s land, with his dog, Ozzie, by his side. He was a lifelong member of New Zion United Methodist Church, and graduated from Liberty Union High School, where he enjoyed and excelled in baseball and basketball.

Melvin is survived by his wife of 71 years, Leota (Von Ins), daughter, June (Mike) Neer, their daughters Cassie and Angie; son Dan (Cathy) Trimmer, their daughter Devon; son Mark (Randi) Trimmer, their daughter Kelly and stepson Jerry; Great Grandchildren; Megan, Hunter, Jordan and Ashlyn and step Grandchildren Derek, Ryan and Anna; sister, Violet Bibler, niece Patty (Fred) Acord; great nephews Mark and Chad Duncan and great niece Lori Zimpler; sister-in-law, Lois (Rod) Wiley. Melvin was preceded in death by his parents; nephew Ralph Bibler; brothers-in-law, Raymond Bibler and Edison Bibler.

Viewing will be on Wed., Oct. 19, 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM, at Johnson-Smith Funeral Home in Baltimore, Ohio, and also 1 hour before the funeral service to be held 11AM Thursday, Oct. 20 at New Zion United Methodist Church, located at 10991 Snyder Church Rd., Baltimore, Ohio, 43105. Lunch will be furnished after the burial, at the church.
