Melvin E. Tennant, Sr., 84 of Lancaster, Ohio passed away Friday, February 13, 2015 at Main Street Terrace Nursing Home. He was retired from Babbert Co. in Canal Winchester, Ohio.
He is survived by his children, Patricia Thompson, Daryl Tennant both of Youngstown, Ohio, Ellis (Cindy) Tennant of West Virginia, Donna Averill, Barbara Tennant, and Melvin E. Tennant all of Youngstown, Ohio; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Gaskill, Esther Stimmell both of Carroll, Ohio, Mabel (Willie) Smith, Jean (Don) Demastas all of West Virginia, and Carol Tennant of Minnesota; brother, Arlie (Eleanor) Tennant of South Carolina; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ellis and Eva Tennant, daughter, Eva Jerez, sisters, Bertha Tennant, Nancy Shriver and Lillian Stimmell, brothers, William, Charles, Marvin and Frank Tennant.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCASTER, OHIO 43130 with Pastor William C. Lavely officiating. Burial will follow in Franklin Hills Memory Gardens, Canal Winchester, Ohio. Friends may visit Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
