Maxine Moore, 94, passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at her residence.
She was a member of the Church of God for 64 years and attended the Newark Victory Christian Center at the time of her death. She and her husband Charles “Chum” Moore were married for 57 years. Together they loved their church, hunting, fishing, camping and vacations with their family. Maxine worked for Sears in Lancaster and Columbus for 35 years.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon (James) Daugherty; grandchildren, Cheri (Dennis) Noland, Kevin (Candace) Daugherty, and Tammy (Kevin) Lawson; great grandchildren, Lyndsay (Austin) Dickson, Sarah (Isaac) Paine, Lauren Noland, Bailey Daugherty, Cassidy Daugherty, and Kendall Mackie; great-great granddaughter, Peyton Avery Dickson; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Moore; parents, Herbert and Emma DeLong; brothers, Herbert Jr. and Carl DeLong; sister, Mary Lou Brown; brother-in-law, Jack Brown; and sister-in-law and good friend, Alice DeLong.
A funeral service officiated by Dennis Noland will take place on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at 1 PM in the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 405 N Columbus St., Lancaster, OH 43130. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens, Lancaster. Family and friends may visit from 6-8 PM on Tuesday, and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
