Maxine (Reese) Barnes, 85 of Clearport, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2015. She was a graduate of Amanda High School Class of 1947. She was a life member of the American Legion Post 11 Womens Auxiliary and a member of Mt. Carmel Church in Clearport.
Maxine retired from Equitable Federal Savings and Loan in Lancaster and was a secretary for the ACHS Alumni Board for a number of years and helped to establish the Associations Scholarship Endowment for Students.
She is survived by her daughters, Beverly (Randy) Anderson of Lancaster, Pamela (Joe) Hiles of Canal Winchester and Jodie (David) Bingham of Georgetown, KY; grandchildren, Rick Welch, Brent Hiles, Amy (Mike) Reed, Randi Lynn Anderson; great-grandchildren, Zack, Luke, Reese, Marie, Maddie, and Ava; sisters, Dorothy, Clare, Mary Lou, and Linda.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard H. Barnes, parents, Wayne and Marie (DeLong) Reese, brothers, Howard and Tom and sister, Lois.
Caring Cremation® has taken place by the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCATSER, OHIO 43130. No calling hours or service to be observed.
