Mary Lou Thorn Hall, 1930-2022

Mom always said that she wanted to die when it was snowing; she got her wish. Prayer warrior and devout Christian, Mary Lou Thorn Hall, 92, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2022 during a flurry of snowflakes.  She was born October 11, 1930 to the late Willard Thorn and Wanda Linn Milliser.

She was a member and Elder at the Lancaster First Church of God.  She had numerous private home decorating jobs and worked at National Meter Parts. She was famously known as  the “fudge lady” and an advocate for health through her involvement with Sophisticated Lady.

Mary Lou is survived by her daughters, Diana DeLong, Rita Romine (Rob Van Evra), Pamela McManis (Daniel) Peoples; Valerie (Bill) Wiseman; brothers and sister, Charles (Roberta) Milliser, Scout Milliser, Eva Milliser Anthony; nephews and nieces; grandchildren, Ricky Tipton, Tony Tipton, Robin Heagen Queen, Jay (Crystal) Heagen, Rachel (Rick) Steel, Tom (Janelle) McManis, Marilu McManis Morgan, Paul (Hannah) McManis, Rocky Spires, Traci (Jon) Parker, Joanna Hall; 23 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughters, Wanda Delong Tipton, Gloria DeLong Hall; son, Donald Allen Romine; sisters, Patience Thorn Swain, Daisy Milliser Steen, Capitola Milliser Hines, Judith Milliser, Charlotte Milliser; brothers, Willard James Thorn, Carl Milliser, Franklin Milliser; step-brother, Benjamin Milliser, step-sisters, Josephine Milliser, Shirley Milliser, granddaughter; Tonya Wiseman.

Caring Cremation has taken place by the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME. Comfort Care was provided by the amazing staff at Fairfield Medical Center.  Donations would be appreciated and can be made to support the FMC Foundation.

A celebration of life will be held at her church fellowship hall from 1-4 p.m. on January 15, 2023.
