Mary Ellen (Thatcher) McWilliams

Mary Ellen Thatcher McWilliams passed away February 10, 2022. Born in Caldwell Ohio, and graduated in 1948 from Cambridge High School. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who never met a stranger.
June 26, 1949, she married the love of her life, the late Lloyd “Mac” McWilliams.
Mary Ellen free hand painted glassware at Gay Fad in Lancaster. Then raised their girls; enjoying being room mother, PTA, OCCL, Brownie and Girl Scout leader. She loved sewing and making clothes. For a winter project, she once upholstered some living room furniture! She enjoyed the antique cars and shows. She loved the attention she would draw as she free hand painted pinstripes on cars. She ran the antique lens company of theirs, M & M Glass.
Mary Ellen loved and cherished her family. She is survived by her sister, Evelyn Prouty of Cambridge, Ohio.
Daughters, Sharon (Dana) Deem, granddaughter Natalie (Chuck) Ford, great grandsons Chase and Cameron. Grandson Rocky Deem.
Pam (the late Dean) Pontius, grandson Billy (Michelle) great grandchildren Brayden and Kennedy. Granddaughter Deanna (Seth) Charlton, great grandsons Maximus and Augustus. And numerous extended family members.

Mary Ellen will be truly missed by family and friends. We would like to thank Special Friends and Neighbors who helped Mary Ellen and Mac through the past few years. Your help and concerns have all been Greatly Appreciated.

Family and friends may visit at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME 405 N. Columbus St., Lancaster, Ohio, February 17, 2022 from 11 until 1PM.  Graveside services will be at her final resting place, Floral Hills Memory Gardens, Lancaster, Ohio, immediately after visitations.
