Mary Belle Sturms

Mary Belle Sturms, 91, of Lancaster, Ohio passed away on November 21, 2014 at the Pickering House.
Mary was born in Belington, W. Virginia and moved to Lancaster in 1950 with her husband Wilbur and five children. She retired from Essex Wire after 23 years. She enjoyed working in the yard, cooking, baking and later in life doing crossword puzzles, reading and keeping up with current events.
Mary is survived by her son, Doyle (Mary Lou) Sturms, daughters, Gladys (David) Phebus, Carol (Ron) Balser, Rosa Lea Goss and Mary Knisley; eight grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and seven great great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Alicia Harris and Wanda Gail McCauley; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Sturms, mother, Gladys Proudfoot, sisters, Dorotha McKenzie, Marilyn Cronin, brother, Cam Proudfoot, grandchild, Jodi Lynn Balser, great grandchild Erik Landis and son-in-law, Victor Goss.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCASTER, OHIO 43130 with Rev. John W. Harra officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may visit one hour prior service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be donated to the Pickering House or FairHoPe Hospice, 282 Sells Rd., Lancaster, Ohio 43130. The family would like to express their appreciation for their help and loving care of Mary.
