Mary Jane Shumaker

Mary Jane Shumaker, age 77 of Pleasantville, died at Heartland Fairfield Nursing Center on November 21, 2014. She was born to the late Earnest and Wilneda Starr Kettell, on July 7th, 1937 in Columbus. Mary Jane retired after 36 years of driving busses for both the Lancaster and Fairfield Union Schools. She was a member of LaSertoma and was an amazing caregiver, helping anyone at a moment’s notice. Mary Jane enjoyed bowling and loved to ride motorcycles and go camping. She loved being with her family and friends, and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her children, Cindy Shumaker, Jim (Mick) Shumaker, Johnny Shumaker, Brenda(Dennis) Munsey, Rob (Michelle) Shumaker; grandchildren, Jason Henderson, Nicholas (Jami) Shumaker and Samantha Shumaker; great-grandchildren, Devon Stamper, Breanna Stamper, and Chloe Shumaker; sister, Phyllis Baker; and several nieces and nephews.
Mary Jane was preceded in death by her husband, John Shumaker; parents; aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

A service will take place on Monday at 1PM at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, officiated by Rev. Deb Click. Family and friends may call on Sunday from 2PM until 4PM and 6PM until 8PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Floral Hills Memory Garden.
