Mary Shoemaker

Mary Elizabeth Shoemaker, 60, of Lancaster, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 3, 2013, at Fairfield Medical Center.

Mary attended Maple Grove United Brethren Church in Baltimore. She enjoyed fishing, reading, puzzle books, and talking with her friends.

Mary is survived by her husband of 27 years, Carl D. Shoemaker; daughters, Tammy Beers and Malinda Beers; step-daughter, Melissa A. Hayes; grandchildren, Issac Staat and Cheyenne Hayes; brother, Charles Shumaker of Amanda; sister, Hazel Portnoy of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Ruth Shumaker; sister, Ruth Ann Shumaker; and brother, Howard “Butch” Shumaker.

A memorial service for Mary will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, October 14, 2013, at the Maple Grove United Brethren Church, 9880 Lancaster-Newark Rd NE, Baltimore, Ohio 43105. Caring Cremation has taken place with the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home, Lancaster.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home to assist the family with funeral expenses.
