Mary K. Rooker 89 of Lancaster, Ohio died Sunday, May 29, 2011 at Altercare Valley View Nursing Home in Canal Winchester, Ohio.
She was a member of the Lancaster Seventh Day Adventist Church, head deaconess at the church and volunteer assistant manager of the Good Neighbor Thrift Store.
She is the beloved mother of her 6 children, Bonnie LeFever of Columbus, Ohio, Mary Alma Rooker , Virginia Rogers both of Maryland, Ann (Charles) Schwalbach of Oregon, Ross Lee (Joan) Rooker, Sr. of Maryland, and Robert L. Rooker, Jr. of Lancaster, Ohio; 11 grandchildren, several great grandchildren; nephew, Bob Williamson of Zanesville, Ohio and niece, Sharon Van Meter of Virginia; several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Rooker, Sr., parents, Carlton Ray and Alma Beatrice Williamson, 2 sisters, and 4 brothers.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. at the Lancaster Seventh Day Adventist Church with Pastor Travis Dean officiating. Caring Cremation has taken place by the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCASTER, OHIO 43130. Burial will be in Wesley Chapel Cemetery at a later date.
