Mary Kammerer

Mary Threasa Seitz Kammerer, 97, of Lancaster, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 11, 2012, at Carriage Court.

Mary was a longtime member of St. John’s Episcopal Church. She was Chief Clerk with the Fairfield County Health Department until her retirement in 1976. She was past-president and a charter member of the Central Ohio China Painters Association and a member of the World China Painters Association. She was also a member of the Fairfield Garden Club and was a Red Cross Nurse’s Aide.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Carol (Richard) Baily; granddaughters, Judith (Scott) Kenney Hilton, Susan (Zeke) Kenney Allinson, and Jean (Chris) Kenney Combs; great grandchildren, Sarah Hilton, Andrew Hilton, Ella Combs, and Jake Allinson; step-grandchildren, Rhodi Strauss, Rick Baily, Mike Baily, Sue and Harvey Fliehs, Jeanne and Bruce Jouannet, Jennifer and Charles Dirks, and Pam and Dale Allen; many step great grandchildren; niece, Kathy (Glenn) Moretz; nephew, A. Jospeh (Patty) Seitz III; and sister-in-law, Alice and William French.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew J. and Threasa Seitz; husband, Harold J. Kammerer; and brothers, Andrew J. Seitz II and Peter J. Seitz.

A memorial service for Mary will be held 1:00 PM Saturday at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 134 N. Broad St, Lancaster, Ohio 43130, with Reverend William Pursley officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Caring Cremation has taken place with the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home, Lancaster. Burial will take place at later date in Husband Cemetery of Somerset, Pennsylvania.
