Mary Marcelette Fowler, 93, of Lancaster, Ohio, died peacefully on August 23, 2021 at the Smith’s Mill Health Center, New Albany, Ohio. She was born on March 4, 1928 to the late Loretta Burrell (nee Woltz) and Walter Edward Hiatt in Tarleton, OH. She married Clarence Fowler on February 24, 1950 in Carroll, Ohio. Marcelette worked in the office at Anchor Hocking, was a Meals of Wheels volunteer for 35 years with her good friend Marg Hart and is a member of Grace United Church of Christ, Lancaster, Ohio.
She is survived by daughter, Jan (Tom) Rogers of New Albany, Ohio; sister, Arletta Ruth Frazier of Lancaster, Ohio; brother Jack Dudley Hiatt of Brantwood, Wisconsin; grandchildren, Aron (Angela) Rogers of Bexley, Ohio, Annie (Tony) Damceski of New Albany, Ohio; and five great-grandchildren, Ella Marie Rogers, Gabrielle Ann Damceski, Owen Thomas Damceski, Clara Mae Rogers, and Beau Bennett Damceski.
She is preceded in death by her husband; her parents; 3 brothers, Arthur Addison Hiatt, Charles Allen Hiatt, Walter Robert Hiatt; and great granddaughter, Mila Elaine Damceski.
A graveside memorial service will take place on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at 10:30 at Floral Hills Memory Gardens, officiated by the Reverend Robert Tussing. Caring Cremation® has taken place through the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Marcelette's life.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marcelette's memory to the Grace United Church of Christ of Lancaster, Ohio or the Fairfield County Meals on Wheels.
