Marlene A. Shaw Hoover 83 of Lancaster, Ohio formerly of New Albany and Baltimore, Ohio passed away Friday, July 20, 2018 at her residence.
She was a retired lead girl in the accounting department for the Kroger Co. with 38 years of service. Marlene was a member of the Baltimore Red Hat Society, past president of the Gahanna VFW Auxiliary, held her private pilot’s license, enjoyed golf, horses, gardening, painting and ceramics. She had one of the first studio and ceramic shop in Columbus during the 1960’s and 1970’s.
Marlene is survived by her son, Eric E. (Lynda) Jayjohn of Lancaster, Ohio; grandchildren, Vonda (Michael) Fichera, Eric R. (Kimberly) Jayjohn and Elizabeth (John) Wadkins; great grandchildren, Hunter, Adleigh, Lauren, Thomas, and Randall “Rhett”; niece, Jennifer Mitchell and Nephew, Douglas Shaw.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert R. Hoover, parents, Marit and Helen Shaw and brothers, Ronald and Charles Shaw.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. at Bloom Baptist Church, 4210 Cedar Hill Rd. NW, Canal Winchester, Ohio 43110 with Pastor Glade May officiating. Burial will follow in Lithopolis Cemetery. Friends may visit Monday from 6-8 p.m. at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCASTER, OHIO 43130 and 1 hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church.
Memorial gifts may be given to the Meals on wheels of Fairfield County, 253 Boving Rd., Lancaster, Ohio 43130.
