Marjie I. Chapman 97 of Carroll, Ohio passed away Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at Fairfield Medical Center. She was born on December 28, 1914 in Carroll, Ohio to the late James and Vernie Alspach Benson.
She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, Carroll Community Garden Club, Reber Chapter O.E.S. #161 and Bloom-Carroll Lions Club.
Marjie is survived by her son, Larry (Cinda) Chapman of Lancaster, Ohio; grandchildren, Rod (Susan) Chapman, Julie (Rich) Collier and Angie (Pete) Kocher all of Lancaster, Ohio; 9 great-grandchildren, Cody, Madison, Carly, Mason, Carynn, Noah, Finley, Colton and Cayla; 3 great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Life long special friend of the family, Connie Rogers of Lancaster, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her husband, O. Dale Chapman, parents, brothers and a sister.
Funeral service will be held Sunday, December 23, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCASTER, OHIO 43130 with Rev. Thomas Rogers officiating. Burial to follow in Betzer Cemetery. Friends may visit Saturday from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
