Ralston
Marion Howard Ralston 81 of Lancaster, Ohio passed away, peacefully in his home on Sunday, December 4, 2011.
He was born on December 22, 1929 to the late Victor M. and Iva I. Rogers Ralston, Sr. in Stout, Ohio.
Marion was a Korean Conflict veteran serving in the US Air Force. He served with the 6147th Tactical Control Group as a medic with the 305th Tactical Bombardment Wing Hospital, SAC, known as the Korean War Mosquitos
He attended college before and after serving 4 years in the US Air Force. He was a graduate of Transylvanian University and the University of Kentucky earning a degree in Chemical Engineering. Marion was employed by Hexcel Corp. as a Chemical Engineer in Research Sales and Development.
He was a member of the American Chemical Society and the Mosquitos Association. He was a faithful and active member of Bible Baptist Church in Lancaster, Ohio. In his younger days he was an avid golfer, loved the beaches in Florida and a great football fan of Ohio State.
He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 58 years, Atha Cox Ralston; daughter, Sharon (Paul) Ralston Green of Marietta, Ohio; grandson, Peter A. Green of California and granddaughter, Erin E. Green of Marietta, Ohio; friends and relatives.
Marion was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Victor M. Ralston, Jr. and sister, Patricia A. Ralston Goodman.
A private graveside service will be held in Oak Grove Cemetery, Marietta, Ohio with Pastor Roy Maple officiating. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCASTER, OHIO 43130 is in charge of the arrangements.
