Marie A. Miller, a cherished soul whose warmth and generosity touched the lives of many, departed this world unexpectedly on October 31, 2024, in Baltimore, Ohio. Born on April 13, 1946, in Lancaster, Ohio, Marie was a loving pillar of her family and the heart of countless memories shared around her beautifully adorned table.
Marie’s legacy as an amazing cook will forever be celebrated. Known for her delectable baked potatoes and her creative tuna salad served in cored-out tomatoes, she had an extraordinary ability to bring happiness through food. With each meal, she shared not just nourishment but love, filling the bellies and hearts of all those who sat at her table.
Her dedication to family was unwavering. She spent 55 wonderful years with her husband, Bob Miller, creating a life together filled with laughter, support, and countless memorable moments. Marie was proud of her role as mother to her children: Wendy (Bob) Mikle, Michael Miller, Jeff (Kim) Miller, and Jessica (Leo) Lagmay and daughter-in-law Holly Miller. Each of them held a special place in her heart, and she reveled in their accomplishments and joys, always first in line to celebrate.
As a grandmother, Marie was affectionately known as "Nana." She poured her love into her grandchildren, Brandon (Jordan) Miller, Corey (Madison) Miller, Tristen (Kayla) Epp, Aaron Miller, Justin Miller, Dalton Epp, Isaac Lagmay, Joey Miller, Gavin, and Gabe Lagmay. Her joy radiated even more with the arrival of several great-grandchildren, as she delighted in spoiling each little one with affection and attention.
Marie’s nurturing spirit extended beyond her immediate family. She held dear the bonds with her siblings, Rosie Hartshorn, Chris Robbins, and Jenny Aguilar, and maintained loving relationships with several nieces and nephews, embodying the role of a caring matriarch.
She carried a deep sense of purpose in her professional life too; after graduating from Bishop Fenwick High School, Marie pursued her passion for education at Ohio University. She dedicated herself to enriching the lives of children through her teaching, instilling knowledge and kindness in each student she encountered.
Her loves were not limited to her family and career—she cherished gardening with her husband, where they nurtured not only plants but also each other, creating a beautiful shared vision of life outside.
Marie faced the challenges life threw her way with grace and courage but succumbed to a sudden onset of cancer. While her earthly presence is no longer with us, her spirit remains alive in the love and kindness she shared.
