Marie Daugherty

Marie M. Daugherty, 87, formerly of Lancaster, believer in Christ, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, April 23, 2017.

Marie loved people, forgave easily, and impacted many lives. She led many Bible study groups and helped lead many people to the Lord before their passing. She loved to travel and quilt. She was also a volunteer with FairHoPe Hospice and she was well known for her sense of humor.

Marie is survived by her children, Kathleen Daugherty, Steven (Melisa) Daugherty, Kristine (Susan Pyle) Daugherty, and Susan (Brett) Reid; grandchildren, Alex (Brittany) Reid, Austin (Heather) Reid, Audra Reid, Connor Daugherty, and Isaac Daugherty; 6 great grandchildren; sisters, Lois Wilson and Shirley Bates; nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.

Marie was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Daugherty; parents, Robert E. and Margaret Greene; and brother, Robert Greene.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM Friday at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, Lancaster with Pastor Marsha Ashbaugh officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Lancaster. Family and friends may visit from 5 to 8 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
