Major John Walter Harman USAF retired, 90 passed away peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at his home in Millersport, Ohio.
John was a Korean Conflict and Vietnam veteran for 20 years and was part of the Ranch Hands.
He was a member of Grace United Church of Christ in Lancaster, former president of the Lancaster F.O.P.A. and enjoyed traveling to doll trade events with his wife Sandra.
John is survived by his wife of 44 years, Sandra; son, Stephen Harman of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; step-sons, Matthew (Lori) Anderson of Westerville, Ohio and Michael (Dana) Anderson of Jacksonville, Florida; nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren, a niece, and his special buddy Lennix. The family would like to especially thank the Veterans Administration, ProMedica Hospice, and Ann Miller – caregiver.
He was preceded in death by Jan the mother of his children, daughter Valerie Brady, son Richard Harman and parents Walter and Catherine Harman.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, August 11, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. in the JOHNSON-SMITH FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 207 S. MAIN ST., BALTIMORE, OHIO 43105 with Rev. Jill Dunlap officiating. Burial will be held in Maple Grove Cemetery, Lancaster, Ohio with the Lancaster Veterans Burial Detail conducting military rites at the cemetery. Friends may visit 2 hours prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
