M. Lawreta Rager

M. Lawreta Rager, age 79, of Lancaster, passed away on November 10, 2015 at the Bickford of Lancaster. She was a born to the late, Lawrence and Merrie Kinzie List on November 6th, 1936 in Dayton, Ohio. Lawreta was a legal secretary for Peck-Shaffer-Williams Law Office for 25 years. She was the church organist for 35 years at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Newark. She was also part of the associate (AIM) ministry of the ELCA. Lawreta will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her husband, Charles F. Rager, Sr; son, Les Dill of Thornville; granddaughters, Autumn Dill and Briana Boyer; great- granddaughter, Mia Audrey Snow; step-daughters, Anna (Ray) Bee of Sugar Grove and Mary Ann Herron of Logan; step-son, Charles F. Rager, Jr. of Logan; brother, Paul (Marcy) List of Lancaster; and nieces, Alysha List and Stacey Roush.

Lawreta was preceded in death by her parents, and sister Neva List.

The memorial service will take place on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at 2 p.m. at the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home located at 405 N. Columbus St. in Lancaster. Caring Cremation® has taken place with the funeral home. Friends and family may visit from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date at Floral Hill Memory Gardens. Donations can be made in Lawreta’s name to St. Paul’s Evangelical Church, 67 N. 5th St., Unit 2 Newark, OH. 43055.
