Lynn P. Leitnaker, age 85 of Baltimore, passed away Wednesday, June 17th, 2015 at Crestview Manor Nursing Home, in Lancaster. Lynn was born on Sept. 5th, 1929 to the late, Paul and Dorothy Rowles Leitnaker. He was a graduate of Thurston, class of 1947. He was a founding member of the Thurston Fire Dept., a US Army Veteran serving 18 months as a tank driver in Korea. Lynn spent his life as a farmer and was a member of the Fairfield County Farm Bureau. He is a member of Cross Pointe F. W. B. Church in Lancaster and will be greatly missed by his numerous family members and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Marjorie Householder Leitnaker; sons, Jeff (Marilyn) of Baltimore, Perry (Kim) of Pickerington, Brent of Obetz, Craig of NC, and Kent of the home; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Ina Katheryn Jackson of Pleasantville and Dorothy (Hal) Stuft of PA; and many nieces and nephews.
Lynn is preceded in death by his parents, granddaughters, Cara and Stephanie Leitnaker.
A private family memorial service will take place at the convenience of the family, with Pastor Brandon Leitnaker officiating. Caring Cremation® has taken place through the JOHNSON-SMITH FUNERAL HOME and interment will take place at a later date at Floral Hills Memory Gardens. The family would like to give a special thank you to the caretenders at V.N.A. Lancaster, Heartland and Crestview Nursing Homes and especially to the McCafferty Family in Pleasantville for all the love they have given Lynn this past year.
