Lyllian "Nellie" Helsel

Lyllian Nell Helsel, of Baltimore, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 21st, 2022, at Mount Carmel East Hospital.  She was born on June 25th, 1940, to the late Ralph and Danise Bauguess.  Nellie, as she was known by many, was an amazing cook – ask anyone who had her green beans, tacos, or zucchini bread.  She loved being outside, whether it was gardening, taking care of her flowers, fishing, or simply watching the birds around her house.  She retired from Western Electric after 34 ½ years as a Layout Operator.  She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Dale Helsel; stepdaughters Richelle McMaster and Sherris Helsel; grandchildren Fletcher & Thatcher McMaster and Lance & Javin Helsel; sisters Margaret (Jim) Hochradel and Ruby (James) Boggs; brother Bobby (Judy) Bauguess; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Nellie Helsel.

Family and friends are invited to calling hours from 5:00-8:00pm, Thursday, August 25th, 2022, at the JOHNSON-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 207 South Main Street, Baltimore, Ohio 43105.  The funeral service will be held at 10:00am on Friday, August 26th, 2022, at the funeral Home.  Interment to occur at Glen Rest Memorial Estate, followed by a celebration of life, with location being shared at the funeral.
