Lowell M. Bud Kline, 89, of Lancaster, passed away at his home on Wednesday, March 20, 2013. Bud was born January 17, 1924, in Rockbridge, Ohio to the late William and Hattie Kline.
Bud was a 1942 graduate of Lancaster High School. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and received a bronze star. Bud was employed by Lancaster Hardware, Cunningham Motors, Holzer Ford, Jack Helm Ford all in Lancaster, Ricart Ford in Columbus, and he retired from Fisher Body in Columbus. He was a member of the Dumontville United Methodist Church and was a Freemason. Bud was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
Bud is survived by his sons, Greg (Belinda) Kline and Mark (Deby) Kline; grandchildren, Jami Kline, Jeremy Kline, Rebecca (Jay) Hoskins, Bradley Kline, Anthony Kline, and Tom Kitchen; great granddaughters, Jada Leigh and Harper Elizabeth; sisters, Cleo Seesholtz and Bonnie (Martin) Strawn; sister-in-law, Roselynn McVey; and many nieces and nephews.
Bud was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Mary Jane Kline, whom he married on May 30, 1946, in Greenup, Kentucky; and by his parents.
A funeral service for Bud will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, Lancaster with Reverend David Long-Higgins officiating. Burial will follow in Tschopp Cemetery with Veteran Burial Rights performed by the Lancaster Veterans Burial Detail. Family and friends may visit from 5 to 8 PM Monday at the funeral home.
