Lowell Dodd

Lowell H. Dodd, age 93 of Lancaster, died April 29th, 2018 at Reflections. He was born to the late, Earl and Muriel Floyd Dodd on August 9th, 1924. He served in WWII in the Army, where he was part of the 10th mountain division where he learned to enjoy snow skiing. He retired from C&O Railroad after 38 years. He was a member of Faith Memorial Church, the American Legion and the VFW. Lowell enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his son, Scott (Rhonda) Dodd; daughter, Carolyn (Barry) Thompson; grandchildren, Angie Dodd, Staci (Kacy) Kern, Joni Dodd, Gary Morrison, Jennifer Thompson, and Diane (Daniel) Myers; great grandchildren, Ethan, Calleigh, Ashleigh, Lila, Camden, Lance, Olivia, and Violet.

In addition to his parents, Lowell was preceded in death by his wife of 66years, Ruth L. Dodd; brother, Bill Dodd; and sisters, Glenda Slate and Arole Fling

A funeral service for Lowell will be held at 10:30AM Friday at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCASTER OH 43130 with Pastor Mel Truex officiating. Burial will follow at Amanda Township Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 5PM until 7PM and one hour prior to the service Friday both at the funeral home.
