Louise Joan Kraft

Louise Joan Kraft, 93, of Lancaster passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, August 1, 2024. She was born on August 31, 1930, in Lancaster, Ohio.

Joan worked at various restaurants and manufacturing jobs. Later in life she loved to travel, especially with or to visit family and friends. Joan painted porcelain dolls and worked in her garden. Joan also liked to volunteer in the kitchen for Lancaster First UMC’s First Community Kitchen and Fellowship Dinners.

Joan is survived by her daughter Judy Kraft of Lancaster; granddaughter Jessica (Travis) Bryant of San Jose, CA; granddaughter Laura (Ryan) Gil of Fresno, CA; grandson Brendon (Nicole) Tucker of Lancaster; great-grandchildren Camdyn, Casyn, Grant, Harper, Isla, London, Macy Sue; close family friends, the Guilers, and her constant companions, George and Buster. 

Joan was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Bob, her parents and her five brothers.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 12, 2024 at 1:30 p.m. at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCASTER, OHIO 43130 with Rev. Nikki Baker officiating.  A live broadcast of the funeral service will be hosted on Monday, August 12, 2024 at 1:30 p.m. on the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home and Crematory Facebook page.  Burial will follow at Amanda Township Cemetery. Friends may call from 2:00 and 5:00 p.m. on August 11, 2024 at the funeral home.

A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, she will be missed by all.
