Lorraine Turner Arnold, 91, died at her home on Thursday, August 3, 2023.
Lorraine was born on June 2, 1932, and raised in Lancaster, Ohio. She attended Lancaster Schools with cherished friends, graduating in 1950 with honors. In addition to college preparatory classes, she studied music, jazz/classical piano; dance, ballet/tap; horseback jumping/riding, and theater. She earned a degree in Art from Stephens College, Columbia, Missouri. Lancaster holds a lifetime of memories and celebrations with her numerous friends, particularly The Birthday Club members who fancifully celebrated each woman’s birthday for 20 years.
Her love of art and design infused her career in retail, interior design, textiles and real estate. She volunteered over the years for the Fairfield County Heritage Association, the Decorative Arts Center of Ohio, the Lancaster Festival, the Rotary Club of Lancaster and the Lancaster Fairfield County Chamber of Commerce. She was an experienced enthusiast of archeology, travel, sewing and antiques.
She is survived by daughters Katharine Louise Arnold, Sarah Arnold Behrens (Robert), grandchildren Aidan Mitcheltree Behrens, Rowan Turner Behrens, Kellan Guthery Behrens, brother John Herbert Turner (Jane), niece Elizabeth Turner Rychcik (Carl), nephew Benjamin Raedel Turner, and grandnieces and grandnephew.
Lorraine is preceded in death by parents, Herbert Miller Turner and Lauretta Mitcheltree Turner.
Caring Cremation® has taken place. A private service will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery in December.
