Loretta McCoy

Loretta Jean McCoy, age 74, of Lancaster, formerly of Rockbridge, passed away at her residence on Saturday December 17th, 2011. She was born to Julis and Gertrude Blankenship in the Thacker Mines in WV on August 4th, 1937. She was a member of Lancaster AMVETS post #1956. She is survived by her sons, Wallace McCoy of Sugar Grove, David (Trudy) McCoy of Logan, and Brian (Sheila) McCoy of Roseville; daughters, Brenda (Richard) Cooper of Lancaster, and Janice (Danny Harmon) Hardwick of Lancaster; eight grandchildren, two step grandchildren, and one great-grandchild; some nieces and nephews, and special niece LouAnn.
She was preceded in death by her parents Julis and Gertrude Blankenship; sons, Harold, Ronald, Michael, and Curtis; brothers, William and Abraham Blankenship; sister, Pearl Bott; grandchild, Rebecca; and ex husband, Alvie.
A service will take place on Thursday at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME at 10:30AM. Burial will follow the service at Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Family and friends may call from 2 until 4 and 6 until 8PM on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials can be made in Jean's name to Meals on Wheels, 252 Boving Rd. Lancaster, OH 43130.
