Lonnie L. Conkle, Sr. 82 of Lancaster, Ohio went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, September 3, 2023 at Fairfield Medical Center with his family by his side. He was born in Carroll, Ohio to the late John H. Conkle and Doris Cramblit Conkle.
He was a member of Faith Memorial Church for 50 years where he was the custodian and sound person for 20 years of that time. Lonnie also was involved in the bus ministry, usher, board member and the care ministry at the church. He was a big OSU Buckeye fan.
After working as a custodian at the church, he was the co-owner and operator of the Grace Machine Shop with his son, Lonnie, Jr. and where he retired from.
Lonnie is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Betty Conkle; son, Lonnie (Misty) Conkle, Jr. of Lancaster; daughter, Lisa (Brian) Diaz of Virginia Beach, Virginia; grandchildren, Rachel Conkle and Heather (Todd Cooper) Conkle-Cooper; great grandchild, Rhett Conkle; sisters, Phyllis Holtz of Lancaster and Raynell Grubb of Ohio; many nieces, nephews, friends, neighbors and church family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Jerry Conkle, sisters, Janet Bradford, Jean Alexander, June Conkle and Karen Levey.
Funeral service will be held Monday, September 11, 2023 at 1:30 p.m. at Faith Memorial Church with Pastor Jonathon Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in Hitler-Ludwig Cemetery, Circleville, Ohio. Friends may visit Monday from 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at the church. Arrangements are being handled by the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, LANCASTER, OHIO.
