Lloyd “Mac” McWilliams passed away peacefully at home, October 10, 2021. Born in 1927 to Sanford and Marcia McWilliams in Hamden, Ohio, as an only child. He graduated from Mifflin High School in 1945. Mac was a WWII veteran who proudly served in the US Army Air Force. He married his surviving wife, Mary Ellen Thatcher, in June 26, 1949. Daughter of Virgil and Lona Thatcher of Cambridge, Ohio.
During his full life he worked building Lustron homes, North American Rockwell, Anchor Hocking and retired from Lancaster Glass in 1998 as a machinist. He and Mary Ellen had a business that made glass headlight and taillights lenses for antique cars and motorcycles from original mold casting. Wares were sold wholesale to national vendors such as Jegs.
When Mac started the Hocking Valley Racing Club in 1950, his love for antique cars was born. He restored a 1934 Auburn that received many national awards as well as more cars too numerous to name. He spent many years as a judge for antique cars. He loved anything with 4 wheels.
He took pride in his family and always cherished time with them. Surviving daughters are Sharon (Dana) Deem, granddaughter Natalie (Chuck) Ford, great grandsons Chase and Cameron. Grandson Rocky Deem.
Pam (the late Dean) Pontius, grandson Billy (Michelle) Pontius, great grandchildren Brayden and Kennedy. Granddaughter Deanna (Seth) Charlton, great grandsons Maximus and Augustus. And numerous extended family members.
He will be truly missed by family and friends. We would like to thank Special Friends and Neighbors who helped Mac and Mary Ellen through the past few years. Your continued help and concerns have been Greatly Appreciated.
