Lloyd W. Febus, 96, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully at his home with his wife by his side on Saturday, January 26, 2013.
Lloyd was a life time member of the Elks BPOE, Fraternal Order of Eagles, the Loyal Order of Moose, and Order of United Commercial Travelers of America. He was also a member of Olivedale and former member of Maple Street United Methodist Church. He was a former Treasurer and Trustee for the Lancaster Home Builders Association. He owned and operated Febus Excavating, with his wife, for over 30 years. He was also an avid Ohio State Buckeyes football fan, attending many games home and away with his wife, including 4 Rose Bowls.
Lloyd is survived by his wife of 74 years, Catherine Irene (Huber) Febus; many nieces and nephews; and special caregivers.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, Jonathon William and Charlotte Febus; brothers, Carl and Lowell Febus; and sisters, Marie Walters, Gertrude Herron, Dorothy Mauger, and Annabelle Rarey.
Funeral service for Lloyd will be held at 1:00 PM Tueday at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, Lancaster. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Lancaster. Family and friends may visit from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Monday at the funeral home.
