Leota Gill Andrews

Leota M. Gill Andrews, 96, of Millersport, passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at Fairfield Medical Center. Leota was born December 29, 1917 in Walnut Township, near New Salem, to the late Homer and Ara Elder.

Leota was a lifelong Fairfield County resident. She worked for the the Fairfield County Auditors office for 27 years. She was a member of the Millersport United Methodist Church and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star - White Shield Chapter and Parthenia Chapter. Leota was a loving and compassionate woman who devoted her life to caring for others.

Leota is survived by her nephew, David B. (Ann) Elder of Worthington; great nieces, Stephanie (Patrick) Koors of Westlake Village, CA and Lauren Elder of Dublin; great great nephew and niece, Magnus and Charlotte Koors; step-son, James (Vann) Andrews of Oklahoma City, OK; and several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.

Leota was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Frederick Gill and Fred S. Andrews; brother, Byron Elder; sister-in-law, Mildred Elder; and step son, Jack (Marianne) Andrews.

Funeral service for Leota will be at 11:00 am Saturday at the Millersport United Methodist Church, 2310 Refugee St NE, Millersport, OH 43046 with Reverend Jerry Wiles officiating. Burial will follow in Millersport Cemetery. Family and friends may visit from 6 to 8 pm Friday at the Johnson-Smith Funeral Home, 207 S Main St, Baltimore, OH 43105 and 1 hour prior to the service at the church.

A special thank you to Leota’s neighbors, Mike and Karen Bergum and Jeff and Julie Stought, for all the help they provided. The family would also like to thank her dear friends who have provided support, love, and comfort to her for many years.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Millersport United Methodist Church in memory of Leota.
