Leona M. Berry

Leona M. Berry, 92, went to be with Jesus on the evening of October 9, 2024. She passed away at Altercare Thornville surrounded by her children. Leona was born on February 19, 1932, to the late James and Jennie (Waldie) Webb. 

Leona retired from Ralston Purina as an assembly line worker. Leona enjoyed doing ceramics but she was known for the swedish weaving blankets she made. She would make around 100 blankets and gift them to families and friends. Leona loved going roller-skating and traveling to Florida with her sisters. She was a dog mom to a precious chihuahua/pug mix named Lilly. 

Leona is survived by her children, Susan (Steve) Fast, Michael (Nida) Berry, Peggy (John) Rogers, and Brad (Mary) Berry; sister Harriett Beougher; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Jeannie; siblings, Richard Webb, Patty Householder, Jean Poling, and Joanne Hyatt. 

A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 14, 2024, at 3:00 PM at Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Lancaster, Ohio. 

The family would like to thank the staff at Altercare Thornville for the love and support they gave Leona.
