Leon Myers

E. Leon Myers, age 88 of Lancaster, died December 10th, 2014 at the Fairfield Medical Center. He was born to the late, Darius and Minnie Hammond Myers on October 17th, 1926 in Pikeville, TN. He served his country during the Korean War. He retired as a machinist at Alton Machine. Leon was quite the handy man, always tinkering with a project; he enjoyed golfing and hunting, and loved spending time with his family.
Leon is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Betty Lou Myers, daughter, Amy (Gary Redmond) Doty; grandchildren, Brian Guffey, Catherine Doty, and Corrie Doty; sister, Cassie Black; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and two sisters.
A service will take place at the FRANK E SMITH FUNERAL HOME on Monday at 1:30PM. Family and friends may visit from 11:30AM until 1:30PM at the funeral home on Monday. A committal service by the Lancaster Veteran’s Burial Detail will follow the service at Maple Grove Cemetery. Online condolences can be made at www.funeralhome.com.
