Leon Dickson

Leon H. Dickson, 85 of Lancaster, Ohio passed away Friday, June 29, 2018 at the home of his son surrounded by his family. He was a Lancaster High School graduate Class of 1950 and a Korean Conflict Veteran serving in the US Army. He was retired from North American-Rockwell International with over 40 years of service.

Leon spent time at Trader’s Café with his friends every day, loved Fords and Mustang cars, NASCAR, OSU Buckeyes, Cincinnati Reds and enjoyed music.

He is survived by his daughter, Michelle Dickson of Lancaster, Ohio; sons, Gregory (Debbie) Dickson of Canal Winchester, Ohio and Michael (Kelly) Dickson of Baltimore, Ohio; grandchildren, Dianna (Ben) Berry, Jennifer (Cory) Hinton, Taylor Dickson, Joshua Dickson, Andrew Dickson and Matthew Dickson; great grandchildren, Brice Bennett, Julian Jackson, Wesley Hinton, Audrey Berry and Ty Hinton; great- great-grandchild, Zulee Bennett; sister-in-law, Edna Wachter and Dorothy Dickson; many nieces, nephews, close friends, Diane Stalter and Paul Osborne and special cousin, Edith Benson.

Leon was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn J. Dickson, son, Kevin Dickson, parents, Pearl and Huldah Dickson, brothers, Joseph and Richard Dickson and sister, Lois Snoke.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCATER, OHIO 43130 with Pastor William Lavely officiating. Burial will be held at Floral Hills Memory Gardens with the Lancaster Veterans Burial Detail conducting military rites at the cemetery. Friends may visit Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
